Zulily Emails

From the launch of Zulily’s flash deals in 2010, email was a critical channel for driving traffic to the site. As a creative partner to the email marketing team, I helped to strategize the new customer onboarding series, winback campaigns, and promotional on-offs, as well as personally designing many of the email templates and creative content. Personalized Winback Email – Extra Discount

This trick with this was to design a template that would allow for personalized brand content based on a customer’s preferred category, a custom discount amount and code, and an optimized template that played well on myriad views from different devices and email client behavior.

 

 

Daily Email Variations with Dynamic Content

For many years, the zulily daily email reigned as the most profitable and optimal source of traffic to the site every day. This series of email templates continued to present live deals dynamically, but in new formats and personalization variants in an attempt to re-engage lapsed customers.

 

 

Valentine’s Day Push

I can’t lie – I’m a sucker for a last-minute, opportunistic marketing idea. When we realized the day before Valentine’s Day that we hadn’t planned any special content that wasn’t kids-oriented, I pulled together these quick valentines’s day cards to email out to the women’s fashion customer segment. It was a fast, cheap, pretty way to incrementally improve sales that day – and you better believe the women’s merch team loved us for it!

This set of emails came with a bit more planning and collaboration. Focused on specific customer segments and highly relevant events, these email sends warranted customized effort to make a big splash for a one-time send.
